Record the workout you actually do
A useful training record starts with the sets you complete. In Next Set, you log the weight and repetitions for each set, so you can return to the details instead of relying on memory. Exercise rest timers help you keep track of the time between sets.
Your plan is a starting point. Record what you actually lift, including sessions when a planned weight or rep count does not suit you. Your history can then reflect your training rather than a list of targets you intended to reach.
Follow a split or make a custom session
Build a split, start from a template or choose a custom workout. Split workouts can use adaptive weight and rep targets informed by compatible training history. Custom workouts keep exercise choices and loads manual, while still giving the session a place in your history.
Saved workout templates help you return to sessions you want to repeat. When you use a split, Essentials offers a shorter version for days when you want fewer exercises. These options let you keep a familiar structure without needing every session to look identical.
Keep exercise details close to hand
The exercise library brings exercise choices, cues and available demonstrations into the app. Custom exercises let you record movements you add yourself; they do not come with the library’s built-in guides or videos.
Weight entries also need context. The same number can mean something different when you change equipment or how you log it. Gym profiles store your equipment increments and units, with exercise-specific settings for the details that vary. Choose settings that match the weights available where you train.
Look back, and keep logging when signal drops
Review past sessions and exercise trends to see your training over time. Your workout history remains useful as your split evolves, and supported training records, saved templates and ordinary settings can sync with your account.
Workout logging supports offline use once the app and workout are available on your device. Other pages need a connection. Reconnect to sync, and keep a separate backup of important records. Offline logging does not mean every part of the app works without internet access.
Read the backup and privacy details before changing devices or clearing storage. Photos, private cycle records and Coach history are outside ordinary account backups. For help with logging or restoring records, visit Next Set support.
Switching from another workout app?
Ask us about support-assisted data migration to Next Set. Tell support which app you use and which records you want to bring across. We’ll review the available export and confirm what can transfer, so you know what to expect before getting started.
